October 24th - 2nd Annual World Series Party a success!!!

WSP 002.JPG

(Nat Bailey Stadium – Vancouver, BC) – The Vancouver Canadians hosted their 2nd Annual World Series Party on October 22nd and 23rd to a packed house on both nights.  More than 600 season ticket holders, housing families, business partners, and media joined the Canadians staff for Game One and Game Two of the 2008 World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Philadelphia Phillies.

The C’s would like to thank a number of key companies who helped create a lasting memory for all our fans this week, including Aramark who did a terrific job on ensuring that everyone was well fed.  The menu for both events included Nathan’s Coney Island Hot Dogs; Johnsonville Bratwurst; a fresh pasta salad provided by our good friends at The Butler Did It Catering; juicy charbroiled hamburgers and dessert!  We also want to thank our good friends at Granville Island Brewery for providing us with plenty of ice-cold alcoholic beverages for our fans over 19 years-of-age, and to A&W Canada for the icy cold A&W root beer.

Fans walked away with a number of great prizes provided by many of our generous partners including: The Old Spaghetti Factory; AMP Merchandise; Van Houtte Coffee; VANOC; AAhhh-So-Easy Mobile Mini-Storage; and the Vancouver Canadians - who capped off both nights by giving away a team-autographed Louisville Slugger baseball bat!

The Canadians are also very proud to announce that our fans donated more than a dozen boxes stuffed with non-perishable food items for the Vancouver Food Bank - helping carrying on the tradition of giving year round.  We want to mention that we really appreciate each and every person who took the time prior to joining us, for checking their shelves and bringing a food donation to ensure they could help so many families that are in need during this holiday season.

A special thanks to CBC Television for their wonderful coverage, as Shane Foxman did his entire 6 pm sportscast from Nat Bailey Stadium and gave everyone at home a taste of the festivities out at the ballpark.  As well, we tip our caps to News 1130’s Garry Raible and ‘Dr. Sport’ Greg Douglas for their wonderful commentary on the event on the Friday AM news.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support!  We look forward to posting our 2009 Schedule on our website in the coming days so check back soon!
